Privacy Policy

ENKI Astro is an astrology and astronomical charting application available for Android devices and through the ENKI Astro website. This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled when using either version.

Information entered into ENKI Astro

ENKI Astro allows users to enter information used to calculate and display astrological charts, including names, dates, times and locations.

In the Android app, preferences, settings and saved charts are stored locally on the user's device.

On the website, preferences, settings and saved charts are stored locally in the user's browser. This information can be deleted through the website's available controls or by clearing the browser's stored data.

ENKI Astro does not require users to create an account and does not provide cloud synchronisation of saved charts.

Location information

ENKI Astro uses location information to calculate location-dependent astronomical and astrological charts.

Android app

Location access is optional and can be enabled or disabled through Android settings.

When location access is enabled, ENKI Astro uses device GPS coordinates locally to identify the nearest city and calculate astronomical and astrological charts. These coordinates are processed and stored only on the user's device and are not transmitted to Google AdMob, GeoNames, the ENKI Astro Cloudflare Worker or other external services.

Manual city searches use the app's local database. Where additional online results are required, the entered search text may be transmitted through the ENKI Astro Cloudflare Worker to GeoNames-based services. GPS coordinates and device identifiers are not included in these requests.

Google AdMob may independently process the device's IP address to estimate its approximate geographical location, as described in the Advertising section.

Website

Location access can be enabled or disabled using the LOCATION toggle in Settings or through the browser's site-permission controls.

When location access is enabled, coordinates supplied by the browser are used to calculate the Live chart.

ENKI Astro also uses its Cloudflare Worker and GeoNames-based location services to identify an appropriate nearby city. This involves transmitting the relevant coordinates for the city lookup.

Manual city searches may transmit the entered search text to the online city-search service.

Using a VPN does not normally affect browser-provided geolocation. However, where a browser relies on IP-based location detection, a VPN may influence the reported location.

If location access is unavailable or reliable coordinates cannot be obtained, London, GB is used as the default Live-chart location.

ENKI Astro does not use the browser-provided location coordinates for advertising or profiling purposes.

Website PDF generation

The ENKI Astro website allows users to generate and download astrological charts and interpretation reports as PDF documents.

When a downloadable PDF is requested, the information required to produce the document is transmitted to ENKI Astro's PDF-generation service and processed to generate the requested file.

Chart and interpretation information submitted for PDF generation is not used for advertising or profiling.

Google Play purchases

Purchases of ENKI Astro Full Access within the Android app are processed by Google Play.

ENKI Astro does not collect or store users' payment-card details. Google handles payment processing, purchase verification and restoration in accordance with its own privacy policies and terms.

Purchase-entitlement information supplied by Google Play is used to determine whether Full Access has been purchased.

Website tips and Stripe

Visitors to the ENKI Astro website can leave voluntary tips through Stripe.

Payments are completed on Stripe's checkout page. ENKI Astro does not collect or store payment-card details entered during checkout.

Stripe handles payment processing and associated transaction information in accordance with its own privacy policy. Payment confirmation and relevant transaction details may be made available to ENKI Astro through Stripe.

Tips are entirely optional and do not unlock additional features, content, subscriptions, entitlements, rewards or services.

Advertising

The free Android version of ENKI Astro may display advertisements provided by Google AdMob following the introductory free-access period.

Google and its advertising partners may process information associated with advertising, including IP addresses, device or advertising identifiers, general device information, app interaction and diagnostic information, and advertising-consent preferences.

This may include an approximate geographical location inferred from the device's IP address. ENKI Astro does not transmit the GPS coordinates obtained for chart calculations to Google AdMob or its advertising partners.

Depending on the user's region and privacy choices, advertisements may be personalised, non-personalised or subject to limited processing.

ENKI Astro does not provide users' birth-chart details, names or other information entered for chart calculations to Google AdMob for personalised advertising.

The ENKI Astro website does not display Google AdMob advertisements. The advertising arrangements described above apply to the Android app.

European advertising and privacy choices

For users in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom and Switzerland, the Android app uses Google's consent-management system where required to present advertising and privacy choices.

Users can manage their available advertising-consent preferences through the options presented by Google. Where supported, these choices can also be revisited through the app's privacy settings.

Advertising is delivered in accordance with the applicable consent choices and Google advertising requirements.

Website operation and technical information

The ENKI Astro website does not require user accounts and does not operate an ENKI Astro user-tracking or analytics system.

Browser storage is used to retain preferences, settings and saved charts.

Website hosting and supporting infrastructure services process technical information necessary to deliver and protect the website. This may include IP addresses, browser information and connection details.

If a user contacts ENKI Astro by email, the information voluntarily provided is used to respond to their enquiry, provide support or address reported issues.

Data storage and retention

Saved charts, preferences and settings are retained locally on the user's device or in their browser until deleted through the available controls, cleared from the device or browser, or removed when the Android app is uninstalled, as applicable.

ENKI Astro does not operate a cloud account system for storing and synchronising users' saved charts.

Email correspondence is retained as needed to respond to enquiries and provide support. Requests to delete email correspondence held by ENKI Astro may be sent to contact@enkiastro.com.

Information handled independently by Google, Stripe and other third-party services is subject to their respective retention policies.

Children's privacy

ENKI Astro is intended for adults aged 18 and over. The Android app and website are not intended for users under 18.

Users can control the information they provide to ENKI Astro and manage the following:
